Greener printing

Printing around the corner is greener by design

No miracle promises, no green badges. Tiskárník is kinder to the planet simply because of how it works: you print at a shop nearby, on a shared machine, and only what you actually need.

Three things the model does all by itself

  1. No parcel shipping

You collect your prints at a shop you pass anyway – no parcel travelling from a central print house through a depot and a van to your door. The shortest route for a print is the one you walk.

  2. Shared printers instead of home ones

One busy printer at a copy centre replaces dozens of home machines that print a few pages a year and then end up as e-waste, half-used toners and all.

  3. Printed only to order

Nothing is printed to stock. The print shop prints exactly what you ordered, only once you ordered it – no overproduction, no shredding of unsold prints.

What you can do

Two clicks, half the paper

Print double-sided. One sheet, two pages – half the paper. And since paper is charged per sheet, double-sided printing is also cheaper per page; you will see the difference right in the price comparison. For multi-page documents, it is the easiest saving there is.

Choose recycled paper. Selected print shops in the network offer it – you will find it in the print shop filters and in the print settings when ordering. It is not a promise for the future; it is a choice you can make today.

What about certifications? Print shops that state they print on FSC-labelled paper carry an "FSC paper" badge next to their name – and you can find them through a filter in the print shop listing. It is their own declaration, not our certification: each shop buys its own paper, so ask them directly about the details – contact info is on their page.

FAQ

Greener printing in practice

Does recycled paper print worse?
Modern recycled papers are practically indistinguishable from regular ones for everyday documents – they tend to be just a shade less white. For contracts, lecture notes or working drafts, it is a fully fledged choice.
How much paper does double-sided printing save?
Half. A hundred-page document means 50 sheets instead of 100 – and since paper is charged per sheet, you save money too. Double-sided printing is a single toggle when ordering.
Why do you have no eco certification?
Because Tiskárník does not print – independent print shops in the network do, and each buys its own paper and energy. We will not take credit for someone else's work; instead we give you choices with real impact: printing locally, double-sided and on recycled paper.
